As part of a recent renovation, Elbow Room Bar set out to improve both the customer experience and back-of-house efficiency. A key part of the project was replacing the existing walk-in cooler with a solution that would provide additional storage capacity while keeping beverages consistently cold during busy service.
While the available space was largely defined by the existing building, the renovation created an opportunity to design a cooler that better supported the bar’s operations. Leer engineered a custom floorless walk-in measuring 15′ 5″ × 7′ 9″ × 8′ 2″, maximizing the available footprint while improving workflow behind the bar.
Constructed with 4.25-inch Soft Rail panels, the cooler features durable 26-gauge stucco-embossed galvanized steel on both the interior and exterior, along with a vinyl screed for a clean, floorless installation. A standard 36″ × 78″ service door provides easy back-of-house access, while a run of four glass reach-in doors allows bartenders to quickly grab cold beverages without entering the walk-in. The result is faster service, improved efficiency, and consistently cold beer ready for every customer.
Projects like this demonstrate how a thoughtfully designed walk-in can do more than replace existing refrigeration. By maximizing available space and incorporating customer-facing reach-in access, Leer helps bars, restaurants, and hospitality venues improve operations while creating a better experience for both staff and guests.
