Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate sheet metal equipment according to blueprint specifications, work instructions, and production requirements.
- Become proficient in the operation and basic troubleshooting of all equipment within the Sheet Metal Department.
- Perform first-piece inspections and routine quality checks throughout production runs to ensure parts meet specifications.
- Verify dimensions using measuring devices and inspection tools.
- Conduct preventative measurement and bend checks prior to production startup.
- Monitor machine performance and identify potential quality, safety, or production concerns before they impact operations.
- Accurately complete required production and quality documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and other departments regarding production status, quality concerns, and equipment issues.
- Assist in training and supporting team members as needed.
- Adapt to changing production priorities and workload demands.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
3rd Shift Expectations
Because work is performed with limited direct supervision, employees on 3rd shift are expected to:

Qualifications
- Previous experience operating sheet metal equipment, manufacturing machinery, or similar production equipment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, measuring devices, and production documentation.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to use calculators and perform measurements accurately.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and manufacturing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally more with assistance.
- Ability to push, pull, and move materials and carts throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
The 3rd Shift Sheet Metal Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and monitoring of sheet metal manufacturing equipment to produce quality parts according to blueprint specifications and production requirements. This position plays a critical role in maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards during overnight operations with limited direct supervision.
