Born from a simple idea shared over post-workout coffee, Rise & Grind Coffee Haus has grown into a thriving, family-owned business built on quality, community, and exceptional customer experiences. As their mobile coffee operation expanded, so did the demand for dependable cold storage to keep up with busy festivals, events, and daily service.
While their mobile trailer produces ice on-site, peak summer demand quickly outpaces what the onboard ice machine can generate. Rather than relying on purchased ice, the team chose to produce their own ice off-site—saving costs while ensuring a consistent supply for customers. That decision created a new challenge: safely storing and transporting more than 1,000 pounds of bagged ice while maintaining product quality throughout the day.
Leer’s Ice Merchandiser provided the ideal solution. With dependable temperature performance and the capacity to support high-volume events like the Warrens Cranberry Festival and the Iola Car Show, the merchandiser allows the team to transport ice inside their enclosed trailer, roll it into place when needed, and confidently keep up with customer demand. It’s a great example of how Leer Ice Merchandisers extend well beyond convenience stores and retail locations, offering flexible, reliable cold storage for mobile businesses, food and beverage operators, event vendors, and anyone who needs dependable refrigeration wherever business takes them.
“In the summers our little ice machine in that rig can’t keep up, so we rely on bagged ice to supplement during rushes. With being mobile, making ice on location is not feasible. We decided to make our own ice offsite, which required a significant amount of storage. We use 100+ pounds of ice per day on average, and during events like Cranberry Festival in Warrens or the Iola Car Show we’ll go through 300-400 pounds per day. With that volume we needed a minimum of 1,000 pounds of storage that could still be wheeled in and out of an enclosed trailer for transport. The merchandiser has been working great so far. My temperature monitor shows it holding a steady average of 18°F.”
