As Fiesta Liquor and Market rebranded, relocated, and transformed its business into a premier liquor and specialty market, creating an exceptional beverage shopping experience became a top priority. A centerpiece of the new store would be a dedicated walk-in beer cave—giving customers access to a wide selection of ice-cold craft, domestic, and imported beers while showcasing the depth of the store’s inventory.
Although the new location offered the ideal area for a beer cave, the building itself presented several design challenges. Existing walls and structural constraints limited the available footprint, requiring the walk-in to fit precisely within the space. Rather than compromising on capacity, Leer engineered a custom solution that incorporated a notched section to work around the building’s existing layout, maximizing every available square foot while preserving the intended customer experience.
The completed cooler measures 13′ 3″ × 37′ 5″ × 7′ 2″ and is constructed with 4.25-inch Soft Rail panels featuring durable 26-gauge stucco-embossed galvanized steel on both the interior and exterior. A floorless design with a vinyl screed provides a clean installation, while a custom opening measuring 36¾” × 81⅛” accommodates the glass pass-through entrance, creating an inviting beer cave that encourages customers to step inside and explore.
Projects like this demonstrate that the perfect walk-in isn’t always built inside a perfect space. Whether working around existing walls, structural obstacles, or unique building layouts, Leer designs custom refrigeration solutions that adapt to the building—not the other way around—helping retailers create standout shopping experiences without sacrificing storage capacity or merchandising potential.
